In recognition of his exceptional service to the field of Middle East studies;With great admiration for over forty years of dedication to the development of new research and publication venues, among them the Middle East Documentation Center, the Middle East Microforms Project, the Mamluk Bibliography Project and Mamluk Studies Review; and his commitment to making them available to researchers around the world;For his role in in the foundation of the Middle East Librarians Association and his service as its first president, and for his unstinting support for students and their scholarship.It is an honor to recognize editor, bibliographer extraordinaire, mentor, academic entrepreneur and innovator, Bruce Craig, whose wide-ranging expertise and love of research have benefited us all.
